ECO4 is the 4th part of the Government funded ECO scheme, The government’s response to the Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) consultation sets out the policy of the scheme from April 2022 until March 2026. The government allocated £4 billion to the scheme and provides a range of energy efficiency measures to homes in Great Britain.
Yes, as long as you own your home. Even without benefits, homeowners can still qualify through their local council's ECO4 Flex route. ECO4 Flex can apply where your household has a gross annual income below £31,000, or where someone living in the home has a health condition that is made worse by a cold home, such as a respiratory disease, a cardiovascular condition, limited mobility, or a weakened immune system. This route is for homeowners only. To check, simply select the 'I don't receive any of these' option on the application form and answer two quick questions.

If your boiler is installed before 2003, the likelihood is that you have an inefficient non-condensing boiler. This could be costing you more in heating bills than you might realise, so if it's true then it could be worthwhile to replace old boiler with a modern A-rated energy efficient boiler under Government Funded ECO4 scheme for FREE.
Switching to a new A-rated boiler won't have much effect on how you use it, but the savings you'll make on your gas bills are significant.
